NaNoWriMo and Fanfiction

National Novel Writing Month

National Novel Writing Month happens every November! It's a fun, seat-of-your-pants writing event where the challenge is to complete an entire novel in just 30 days. For one month, you get to lock away your inner editor, let your imagination take over, and just create!
That means participants begin writing November 1 and must finish by midnight, November 30. The word-count goal for our adult program is 50,000 words, but the Young Writers Program (YWP) allows 17-and-under participants to set reasonable, yet challenging, individual word-count goals.
In 2011, 250,000 adults participated through our main site, and 50,000 young writers participated through the YWP. (from NaNoWriMo Page)

I will be participating in NaNoWriMo come November.

Fanfictions

When I have free time, I enjoy writing fanfictions! Mostly one-shots, but sometimes I work on multi-chapter fics. Here are some exerts from my favorite ones:

Es Fuerte: An Original Character Supernatural Fic
"In seconds, a slim figure appeared in the back of the room, highlighted by the dim light of the window. She was clad in a hooded leather jacket that cast a shadow over her eyes and the bridge of her nose and thick, dark jeans making her seem like a professional assassin. But she was way past seeming like an assassin. Sam watched in his dazed state as she cut the heads off of each vampire from behind with a long Colima machete. Not until three heads were rolling on the ground did the other vamps notice her appearance. Sam was worried for her, being as she was extremely outnumbered and the alpha had noticed her approach."

Cold Coffee and No Time Left in the Day: A Percy Jackson and Annabeth Chase One Shot

"Annabeth woke up to a fresh, salty smell and a warm body beside her. Light shined through a window in their small but absolutely perfect apartment in the city that never sleeps. A draft blew into the room and Annabeth snuggled in closer to the warm mass lightly snoring next to her.
She ran a hand down Percy’s bare chest, scattered with pale scars from previous battles. She dragged her finger over each and every one, trying to remember which each one was from. There were so many. He took a deep breath, and stirred in his sleep. Annabeth smiled."

We Are Not Invisible: A Hunter Hayes One Shot

"Hunter lifted his fingers off the smooth keys of the grand piano and picked up the pencil sitting tranquil on the top of the instrument to scratch down a few lyrics.
Trust the one who’s been where you are wishin’ all it was was sticks and stones…
He sat for minutes thinking about that same line until writing the next. He took his time drawing out each word, making it sure it was just right. Making sure it was the perfect puzzle piece to go in that exact spot."
